Adam and Gila Milstein Launch a Meme Competition

Adam and Gila Milstein announced that their foundation will be accepting submissions from the world over to compete in a pro-Israel meme competition. Dubbed the Milstein Meme Competition, Adam Milstein is giving hundreds of entrants the opportunity to show off just how well they can meme and win cash prizes up to $2,000.

Contestants will have the opportunity to get funny or serious, and communicate their message in images or video so it can spread across social media. Submissions will become part of a meme stash for use by pro-Israel activists.

Philanthropist Adam Milstein sees this meme competition as a way for people to express their love and support for Israel. And the people judging the competition are authorities in making memes, and are qualified to pick out the best of the bunch.

According to the schedule Adam Milstein announced, the public will be able to weigh in on the competition as well. Starting on August 3 at 8 a.m. PST, entrants will be able to submit up to five memes, and the public will be able to react to each by utilizing Facebook’s “reacts.” And all public judging and submitting will come to a close on August 14 9 p.m. PST.

High school and college pro-Israel activists will determine the winners of the cash prizes, and the 8 winners and 10 runners-up will be announced on August 17.

Many people seem to be motivated by the prospect of new memes. Tamar Lyons, a judge in the competition, a student at Ryerson University, and President of the local Students Supporting Israel chapter, sees this as an opportunity for young people to express their humor and love of Israel. This, she sees, as an opportunity to get an important message in front of more young people in a way that is engaging and spreads quickly.

Adam Milstein has announced that the Milstein Family Foundation has added more than a dozen Jewish groups to a list of contest sponsors, pointing to the enthusiasm behind these memes.

Adam Milstein and his wife Gila head the Milstein Family Foundation, an organization dedicated to safeguarding the Jewish people and the state of Israel by engaging young people and promoting knowledge to further US-Israel relations.
